The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.

Dear Young people, Eastertide greetings!
As we navigate our way through these uncharted waters and challenging times, we give thanks to God for that wonderful gift of HOPE which we so wonderfully recall through the celebration of Easter.
It was with great joy that more than 170 young people across the Province of ACSA joined the Archbishop of Cape Town in a ZOOM meeting on Monday, after Easter day. At this meeting Young people were able to name their challenges and feelings whilst being LockedDown due to the global pandemic as a result of COVID-19.
As a result of this meeting, the Diocese of Cape Town YPM has established a; COVID-19 YPM task team, and as an outcome of this task team, the concept of #SundaysInYellow was conceived. This concept was further discussed with Diocesan Youth Chaplains in the Western Cape (Cape Town, Saldahna Bay, False Bay and George).
It is with great excitement that we the YPM Chaplains of the respective Diocese, with the support of the Bishop, call on all our Young People in the Dioceses of Cape Town, False Bay, Saldahna Bay and George, to wear an item of yellow clothing every Sunday. This should begin on; Sunday 19 April 2020
The colour yellow is chosen as a colour representing hope, but also one which represents joy. We use colour yellow to remind us to remain hopeful as we together face this common adversity; COVID-19, but we also wear yellow to remind us of the joy of being a people who know the power of God’s love for each one of us. We use the colour yellow to challenge us to be a source of joy as we observe social distancing and adhere to the regulations and laws of the country; for we are reminded of the words of the Psalmist; Joy comes in the morning. For as a people of the Resurrection, we are a people of HOPE!
As you don your yellow, as a means of support and awareness around LockDown and COVID-19, but more importantly as a symbol of HOPE and JOY, we ask you to post it on Social media (WhatsApp/Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/TikTok) and use the hashtag #SundaysInYellow.

Liewe Jongmense, Paastyd groete!
Soos ons ons weg vind binne onbekende waters en uitdagende tye, dank ons God vir die wonderlike geskenk van HOOP wat ons met elke Paastyd kan herroep en vier.
Ons, maar veral die Aartsbiskop, was baie verheug dat meer as 170 jongmense van die totale Anglikaanse Provinsie – ACSA (Anglican Church of Southern Africa) – betrokke was in ‘n ZOOM vergadering met hom. Tydens hierdie vergadering op Paas Maandag is die invloed van die Korona virus pandemie (COVID 19) en die gepaardgaande Inperking – LockDown – bespreek en het die jongmense hul vrese, uitdagings en gevoelens met Aartsbiskop Thabo gedeel.
Hierdie vergadering het gelei tot die stigting van ‘n COVID 19 Young Peoples Ministry taakspan onder leiding van die Bisdom van Kaapstad se YPM. Na oorlegpleging met die Jeugkapelane van die vier Bisdomme binne die Wes-Kaap, is besluit om iets spesiaal te doen waar die Jongmense die leiding kan neem… die konsep van
#SundaysInYellow.
Natuurlik is ons as die Kapelane binne die Wes-Kaap bisdomme baie opgewonde oor hierdie idee en glo dit sal by alle jongmense byval vind. Ook die Arch is baie ingenome hiermee. Gevolglik vra ons dat alle jongmense in hierdie bisdomlike distrikte om elke Sondag vanaf Sondag 19 April ‘n item of kledingstuk in geel te dra!!
GEEL is gekies omdat dit die kleur van HOOP is; ook beeld dit uit Vreugde. Hierdie kleur moet ons daaraan herinner om hoopvol te wees te midde ons stryd teen die gemeenskaplike vyand, COVID 19. Ook herinner geel ons aan die vreugde wat ons het omdat ons mense van God is, wat in hom glo, vertrou en ons HOOP in Hom vestig.
Deur die kleur geel te dra, word ons ook uitgedaag om VREUGDE en HOOP TE VERSPREI al word ons genoodsaak om ‘n sosiaal afstand te handhaaf en om so die wette van die land te gehoorsaam. Ons almal word herinner aan die woorde van die Psalmdigter wat sê: “want vreugde kom in die oggend.” Omdat ons mense van die Opstanding is,is ons mense van HOOP. Jongmense; julle is ons HOOP, julle is ons VREUGDE. Wanneer jul dus elke Sondag iets GEEl gaan dra of toon, is dit julle sigbare ondersteuning om alle pogings vir die stryd teen COVID 19 te ondersteun en bewustheid van die gevare van die virus, verder te versprei. Dus gaan op Facebook, Twiitter, whatsApp, Instagram, Tik Tok en post #SundaysInYellow. Wees te alle tye van ons volgehoue gebede vir ons Jongmense in ons Bisdomme, Land en Wêreld; ook ons bereidheid om tot hulp te wees soos julle ons nodig het.
Onthou altyd… God het jou LIEF.
