About Revd Sue Ray

Revd Sue Ray

Hi, I’m Reverend Sue Ray. I was ordained deacon in the Johannesburg Diocese by the Right Reverend Brian Germond in February 2004 and later that year in June 2004 ordained a priest. I first served as an assistant priest at St Monnica’s church in Midrand for a year and then moved to St Catherine’s church in Bramley where I served as an assistant priest for 6 years. In 2011, I took up the post as rector of St John’s and St Francis in Roodepoort where I served until my retirement in 2016. I am now helping at the Parish of Formosa as a retired clergy.

I obtained a Bachelor of Theology degree from Unisa majoring in Biblical Studies and Practical Theology and then did further studies in spirituality.

Both my children, together with their families, live in the UK, and I’m the proud grandmother of 3 grandchildren.
