1st June 2020

We would like to thank you most sincerely for your generous donations towards the food parcels that have enabled us to reach out to the needy in the communities in the greater Bitou area.

The generosity of our parishioners and the many residents of Formosa Garden Village and the help given by the management and staff of the Village has made it possible to reach out to so many who would otherwise not have had food on their tables in the past two months of lockdown. Our ladies in the communities who are running the soup kitchens and helping with the distribution are aware of those who are most in need and it is those people who we have endeavored to reach out to. In the words of Sydney Carter’s hymn “When you needed a neighbour, were you there, were you there? l was cold, I was hungry, were you there, were you there? And the creed and the colour and the name don’t matter”, You were there.

We have run soup kitchens at our outlying chapelries for many years and with the generosity of our donors hope to be able to continue to do so in the months to come as the full extent of joblessness and poverty affect all our communities.

May God bless you and keep you safe and well.

Yours Sincerely,

Fr Edwin Pockpass
